In March 2008, Dr. Anne Miller joined EdisonLearning as Chief Quality Officer. In this role, Dr. Miller is responsible for advancing quality and accountability across all company, and focus organizational output on excellence.
Dr. Miller was most recently the former Director of Strategic Education Initiatives for the American Productivity and Quality Center. Dr. Miller joined APQC to help launch their education initiative, Process Improvement and Implementation in Education. Most recently, Dr. Miller served as program manager for a one-year, $3.5 million grant awarded to APQC from the Texas Education Agency to develop and deliver a principal leadership development program.
Previously she served as director of the American Productivity and Quality Center’s (APQC) strategic education initiatives. Prior to joining APQC, she served four years as the Executive Director of the Association of School Business Officials International. Dr. Miller came to ASBO from the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), where she was the Executive Director of their foundation and Director of School Leadership Services. While with NASSP, she co-founded the National Alliance on the American High School and served as their first chairperson.
Before joining the NASSP, Miller was with the Eastman Kodak Company for twelve years. She served as Director of Corporate Education Initiatives for worldwide employee training, and as the CEO’s advisor on K-12 education policy issues and programs. She also was Director of Education Solutions & Services, a group that developed and marketed image-based technology solutions to improve teaching and learning. Prior to joining Kodak, Miller was a teacher in K-12 public schools and at the University of Kansas and the University of Missouri.
She worked extensively developing interactive multimedia programs and computer-based training as well as traditional classroom instruction in the 80’s. Miller has published numerous papers and articles and has been a frequent speaker on education leadership, as well as the appropriate and effective use of education technology.
Dr. Miller grew up in western Kansas and holds Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University of Michigan and a Ph.D. in Education from the University of Illinois. She is married and has two grown daughters.
