A Rich and Challenging Curriculum
Edison’s curriculum is guided by academic standards—which meet or exceed all state standards—that specify what students must know and be able to do to satisfy goals and expectations.
Helping all students develop into responsible citizens is an integral part of the Edison curriculum. The Edison Core Values—wisdom, justice, courage, compassion, hope, respect, responsibility, and integrity—provide the basis for our character and ethics curriculum and student management system that contribute to building a positive learning environment.
A spirit of multiculturalism infuses the Edison curriculum. Students explore their own cultural heritage and that of other ethnic groups through a literature-based approach to teaching and learning. Teachers foster cultural awareness and understanding as students explore various values, customs, and lifestyles within a broad study of the human experience.
Edison schools and programs have the benefit of ongoing research and development projects that keep educators up to date on effective practices, innovative curricula, and whatever information is necessary for them to do the best possible job for their students. Our commitment to a sound research base continues as more and more Edison schools and programs open and operate.
