Edison believes that achievement and assessment go hand in hand. That is why we have taken the time and considerable resources to develop outstanding assessment tools that are an essential part of our programs and school design, these include the Benchmark Assessment System and the quarterly Student Learning Contract.

QUARTERLY STUDENT LEARNING CONTRACTS AT CHARTER AND DISTRICT PARTNERSHIP SCHOOLS
Each quarter, partnership schools plan conferences with each student's family. One teacher becomes a student's primary adviser. At the conference the adviser, the student, and his or her family discuss and complete a Quarterly Student Learning Contract (SLC). The SLC reports to the family the level of the student's work and the overall quality of performance. The student, teacher, and family will agree on goals for the upcoming quarter, and how they can work together to meet them. This contract allows all parties to take ownership of the child's success.
