Will Edison be taking over my school?
No. The partnering district maintains managerial control over its schools while benefiting from Edison’s proven strategies for improving student performance.
If the school I work for becomes an Edison Alliance partner, will my conditions of employment change?
No. All staff and administrators remain district employees retaining the same salaries, benefits and association memberships. Staff would work in the same school serving the same students.
Will the Edison Alliance program change the length of the school day or year?
No. The district maintains control of its schools and, thus, the length of the school day or year would not change unless the district decides to change it.

- Edison Alliance provides proven achievement tools and services that are the product of 10+ years experience in turning around underachieving schools and significant research and development. Edison Alliance also provides administrators and staff ongoing, intensive training and support throughout the duration of the partnership.
- Together, the partners perform a diagnostic assessment at each partnership school and develop and implement a detailed intervention plan that is customized to meet the needs of each school
What achievement tools and services does Alliance provide to a partnering district?
Edison provides partnership schools a Comprehensive School Reform Model that includes a school design that creates an environment and school organization that is singularly focused on achievement. Alliance also provides:
- Curriculum support and the Benchmark Assessment System, a user-friendly, online, formative assessment system that is aligned to state standards and proven to help students achieve.
- Achievement Management Systems to ensure that each partnership school is on track for meeting its achievement targets.
- Unparalleled onsite support from a local team consisting of specialists in achievement, reading, and mathematics as well as additional support based on particular school needs.
How is Edison accountable for results?
Accountability is at the core of the Alliance model--Edison Alliance’s only success is our partners' successes.
- Alliance provides its partners with regular, detailed reports on each partnership school’s progress.
- If schools do not meet achievement targets, the district partner can discontinue the relationship.
