Cahlan-Edison is Popping Tops For Charity!
Cahlan Edison in Las Vegas spent the month of May collecting pop tops from aluminum cans. As a school, we collected almost 100,000! The pop tops are donated to a local Ronald McDonald House which provides families of sick children a place to stay while their kids are treated in local hospitals.

D.C. Charter School Teacher Receives National Recognition
Each year, one teacher from each state and the District of Columbia is selected for the "American Stars of Teaching"award from the U.S. Department of Education. In mid-September, Shadwick Jenkins, a third-grade teacher at the Friendship Public Charter School (Chamberlain Campus) in D.C., joined the exclusive ranks of the award recipients who are recognized for their extraordinary efforts in the classroom.
