Comprehensive strategies; develop vocabulary
and grammar skills, Step-Up to Writing, develop speaking and listening
skills, Touchstone Program for character and ethics development.
Mathematics
Prentice-Hall Middle School 3-year program
featuring concept spiraling, manipulative activities, cooperative learning,
differentiated instruction and daily homework.
History/Social Studies
6th and 7th grades explore World History
from ancient civilization through the Age of Exploration. 8th grade students
study U.S. History through the Civil War and Reconstruction.
Science
Thematic, hands-on curriculum integrates
life, physical, earth and space sciences. Three levels of investigation
include patterns of change, diversity, limits and system changes.
Arts/World Language
Spanish, Drama, Music, piano, Band and
Choir are offered to all students.
Physical Education/Health
Daily P.E. for all students includes setting
individual fitness goals, understanding the benefits of strenuous physical
activities, development of individual motor skills and development of teamwork
skills.
