Wyatt-Edison Charter School
The mission of Wyatt-Edison Charter School is to establish and
maintain a culture of high achievement in which innovative teaching strategies,
effective use of data and assessment, and use of technology support accelerated
learning.
Special features include:
-
An independently run public school providing all students with a
world-class education in a safe and nurturing environment. Wyatt-Edison
Charter School is housed in a beautifully restored building, originally
built in 1887 and used as one of the first schools in Denver.
-
A Better Use of Time. More time for teaching and learning with a
longer day, longer school year, and special programs such as Early Excellence
and Open Door.
-
School Uniforms. Our "Dress for Success" policy goes hand-in hand
with our high academic focus, safe environment, and character education.
-
A Technology-Rich Environment. Technology is used as part of everyday
teaching and learning. We have two full computer labs and computers in
every classroom.
-
A Rich and Challenging Curriculum. A research-based curriculum that
engages every child in learning including Success for All and Chicago Mathematics.
-
Organized for Students' Success. Quality teaching staff organized
in teams to work with the same group of students in school-within-the-school
units called houses.
-
A Respectful Partnership with Families. Prepare yourself to feel
welcome and involved in your child's school.
-
A Variety of Electives. Specials classes including World Language,
Art, Health & Fitness, Music, and Drama are available to all students.
