Ben Ross Public School Academy is a public charter school currently offering a world-class education to hundreds of students in the metropolitan Detroit area. Ben Ross opened its doors to students in grades K-8 in the fall of 2004. The school is proud to offer outstanding tuition-free education to even more students as it expands in the fall of 2005.

The school is named in honor of Harriet Tubman's father-a great teacher and a great parent.

We believe strongly in reinforcing student choices and behaviors through our character education program. Concepts surrounding the following eight core values are woven into instruction on a daily basis: Wisdom, Justice, Courage, Compassion, Hope, Respect, Responsibility, and Integrity.

Students in grades 2-8 will be tested every month in core subject areas so parents, students and teachers can monitor their progress. The testing occurs electronically in our computer labs, and timely results allow for modifications in instruction that benefit each student.
