Senior Vice President, Human Resources
Tom joined Edison in March 2006 as vice president for human capital management. In January 2007, Tom was appointed senior vice president, human resources. As head of the department, Tom leads Edison’s efforts to recruit, hire, develop, motivate, and retain a highly skilled and effective team of employees, with a particular emphasis on world-class principals and teachers.
Tom has more than a decade of HR leadership experience. Prior to joining Edison, Tom was head of Human Resources for Panasonic’s $2B North American Industrial Sector. He has also been head of HR for the Global Wireless Products Division of Philips Consumer Communications, a Lucent Technologies and Philips Electronics joint venture, and Lucent Technologies’ wireless products business.
In addition to his HR background, Tom has nearly 20 years of general management experience in various divisions of AT&T and Lucent Technologies, with particular emphasis in Total Quality Management (TQM), corporate strategy, sales results analysis, economic forecasting, and information management.
Tom is a summa cum laude graduate of Saint Peter’s College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. He also holds an MBA in Management from Fairleigh Dickinson University and has completed the Management Program for Executives at the University of Pittsburgh.
