Each quarter, in each major subject area, teachers and students jointly select several pieces of work that best demonstrate student progress and place them in the portfolio. By the end of a quarter, the entries in the portfolio ought to address all of the major standards pursued during those ten weeks. Edison provides regular suggestions for portfolio entries, but teachers are free to elect alternatives.
