History
Just
five years ago, Alliance Community
Schools launched their first campus, The Dayton Academy, to provide
Dayton families with a viable option for K-8 education. The next
year, Dayton View Academy opened its doors. Today, the two public
charter schools serve approximately 2,000 students, providing a
world-class education to Dayton children. The design is grounded in
research-based curriculum, regular performance assessments and high
quality teachers.
The
Vision
The vision of The Dayton Academy and Dayton View Academy
schools is to provide a world-class education and to develop
understanding, inquiry and good citizenship. The schools will
provide a richer curriculum in reading, math, science and social
studies than competing schools in Dayton.
The schools, in partnership with the Ohio State Department of
Education, community organizations and parents, will achieve this
vision using the design of Edison Schools Inc.
