Technology enhances student assessment in many ways. The structured portfolio is maintained electronically and student work is produced electronically—for example, with a word processing tool—and saved directly in the electronic portfolio. Work that exists on paper—drawings, printed stories, etc.—often is scanned by computer into the electronic portfolio. The forms that teachers and students use to evaluate portfolio entries also exist electronically. And, the Quarterly Learning Contract is stored electronically, making it easier and more efficient for each member of a teaching team to report on a single student’s progress. What other roles does technology play in an Edison School? |
