Director of School Management

Position Summary:
Drives operational performance at a specific operating site, as well as providing administrative and logistical support to the Principal in driving achievement and financial success at the site. The Director of School Management reports to the principal.

Main Responsibilities
Ø Act as lead in all operational and logistical projects for start-up operations
Ø Implement enrollment campaign for students (new, ITR, etc.) including engagement in local marketing initiatives, demographic analysis, coordination with local/regional communications specialists
Ø Maintains integrity and accuracy of Student Records, including maintenance and tracking of attendance and retention
Ø Manage day to day activities of designated non-instructional staff
Ø Implement HR policies and procedures (e.g., compensation; vacation/sick days; all aspects of recruitment - screening, background checks, etc.)
Ø Oversee the processing of all new hire paperwork
Ø Process confidential new hire paperwork, PAFs
Ø Responsible for maintenance of personnel files for all employees
Ø Lead in orientation of new hires
Ø Lead annual performance reviews for non-instructional staff
Ø Responsible for site level procurement of supplies, materials, equipment, and inventory management
Ø Local manager for Transportation, Food Services, Facilities Maintenance, and other 3rd party service providers
Ø Manage all aspects of FRL program/process
Ø Responsible for implementing technology at the site level (planning, procurement, training, application)
Ø Site level responsibility for school security
Ø Responsible for site level budget development, monitoring and management
Ø Prepare reports on site operations and attend board meetings
Ø Respond to and resolve routine internal and external inquiries with parents, employees and school organizations
Ø Coordinate with the HQ grants team for all Federal, State, Local grant applications and reporting
Ø Prepare drawdown requests for state funds
Ø Manage and reconcile schools authorized bank accounts and petty cash funds
Ø Special Education clerical and administrative responsibilities
Ø Provide financial oversight including invoice approval and developing the substitute budget



Special Skills/Experience Required:
Ø Demonstrated success in managing budgets of $5 million
Ø Demonstrated success in managing contracts of up to $500,000
Ø Experience in educational arena a plus, particularly in educational administration
Ø Exposure to staffing processes and more general HR processes
Ø Independently and effectively manage operations and facilities
Ø Knowledge of financial modeling and cost analysis techniques
Ø Skilled in interpreting and managing SLAs and contacts for outsourced services
Ø Skilled in use of MS Excel or other financial and organizational modeling software
Ø Demonstrated ability to manage staff of up to 5-10 exempt and nonexempt employees
Ø BS in Business or Finance
