Cognos Administrator / Report Developer

Edison Schools Inc. is seeking a qualified Cognos Administrator / Report Developer to develop and maintain the existing Reporting infrastructure.

The candidate will be the Technology liaison working directly with the business areas with responsibility for financial / business reporting and distribution utilizing Cognos 7.3 Impromptu, IWR and Powerplay products. Expertise with each of these products is a must and the candidate must be able to analyze complex specifications and apply their knowledge of data structures, data conversion techniques and the application capabilities to develop user-friendly solutions.

Responsibilities:

* Design, develop and administer catalogs, models, reports and queries in Impromptu.
* Setting up table, database, system, folder and report level security in Cognos Access Manager.
* Publish reports to Upfront portal using Cognos Server Administration.
* Create and maintain Cognos objects such as joins, filters, prompts and calculations.
* Coordinate month-end reporting cycle with Finance.



Special Skills/Experience Required:
Requirements:

* BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience preferred.
* 3+ years experience with Cognos Impromptu, Impromptu Web Reports and PowerPlay.
* 3+ years experience with Access Manager, Report Publishing and Configuration Manager.
* Proficient in developing SQL queries for MS-SQL or Oracle RDBMS.
* Proficient working with relational databases (Oracle, MS-SQL).
* Experienced with ETL Tools (ERwin, Cognos Decision Stream).
* Proficient in MS Office (Excel), Windows XP and MS Visio.
* Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and documentation skills.
* Must have effective troubleshooting and analytic skills.
* Knowledge of Lawson Financials / Procurement modules is a plus.
