| Accounting Manager Location: New York, NY School: Finance Position Summary: Supervise and assist staff of 4 accountants in the general ledger and fixed asset accounting groups. Supervise monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing process and participate in the preparation of consolidated financial statements. Work closely with business controllers and central personnel in the financial closing process. Supervise journal entry process for accruals and allocations at corporate and divisional levels. Ensure account reconciliation is performed in a timely fashion; help perform analytical review of balance sheet accounts; and assist in the completion of P&L; fluctuation analyses. Ensure transactions and activities are accounted for in accordance with GAAP and financial accounting and reporting are in compliance with all applicable standards and regulation including FASB, EITF, SOP, etc. Help evaluate all financial processes that support the accounting and reporting activity; identify improvement opportunities; and participate in the implementation of chosen solutions. Work closely with Treasurer to monitor our notes receivable (lending) portfolio including maintaining loan schedules, calculating interest and amortization, applying of cash receipts and proper accounting thereof. Supervise day-to-day cash management activities including monitoring of collections and disbursements of funds and related accounting. Assist in the year-end external audit process: provide explanations to outside auditors queries; present supporting documentation; and help complete the audit in a timely fashion. Special projects and other duties as assigned.
