Thursday, April 19, 2001
Edison Schools announced that expansions are underway in two upstate New York cities, Albany and Rochester. A new, larger facility is under construction for Albany's New Covenant Charter School which would allow for increased enrollment as well as the addition of one grade to the current K-6 program. This fall the company will also begin a four-year expansion program of the Charter School of Science and Technology in Rochester, adding one grade per year to its current K-8 program. The combined enrollment of the two sites will increase from 1,200 students this year to serving between 1,550-1,700 students in the coming year.
