Edison Schools Awarded Contract Renewal by Colorado Springs School District Monday, March 19, 2001 Edison announced that its contract to manage two charter schools in Colorado Springs has been renewed for another five-year period. The Board of Colorado Springs School District #11 made its decision to renew Edison's contract for Roosevelt-Edison Charter School and Emerson-Edison Junior Academy in a unanimous vote at its March 14th meeting. Roosevelt-Edison Charter School opened in partnership with Edison in the fall of 1996 and currently serves 700 students in kindergarten through grade 5. Emerson-Edison Junior Academy, which opened in fall 1997, serves 740 students in kindergarten through grade 6.
