There's much we don't know about what skills students will need in the 21st century, but we can be sure they'll need communication skills. Edison students hone their writing and oral language skills daily. Schedules vary from 30-60 minutes. Students are taught the writing process-prewriting brainstorming; drafting; revising for content and format; editing for grammar, spelling, and punctuation; and publishing their final work.
Often you'll see technology integrated in writing/language arts, with students composing first drafts or refining more finished products on computers.
