Monday, March 19, 2001
Edison announced that it will continue its grass roots efforts with New York City parents as they begin a two week voting process to determine whether to convert 5 New York City schools to public charters to be managed by Edison. Parents at each of the schools, which currently enroll approximately 5,000 students, will vote next week to determine the educational program for their children. The vote will be conducted by the American Arbitration Association from March 19 until March 30. Announcement of the results is expected in early April.
