While students are with specialist teachers, regular classroom teachers get planning time. There is one common planning time for the four teachers in each house, and one personal planning time. The staggered personal planning times give teachers additional chances to observe in one another's classrooms during the day. The joint planning time ensures teachers have a daily opportunity to discuss student issues or plan curriculum.

The agenda for the common planning time is set by the lead teacher for the house, who supervises the others. Lead teachers are chosen for their leadership skills, not by seniority.
