About Our School Design and Curriculum
Our school design and curriculum are at the heart of our school partnerships, programs, and services. Between 1992 and 1995 and in on-going efforts, a team of leading educators and scholars at Edison conducted extensive research to develop a model school design and curriculum enhanced by intensive school support systems.
The Edison School Design seeks to complement the best aspects of what a district is already providing to a school community. To this, we add the collective results of years of research and school management experience. Our aim is to work in true partnership to help create, maintain, and enhance great schools and great school programs.
Our rich and challenging curriculum is built on classic liberal arts traditions but fully integrates the demands of the 21st century. Students participate in a program that focuses on the essential academic disciplines, including: reading, writing, literature, mathematics through calculus, history, government, economics, the sciences, and social science. Students also enjoy an enriching program of fine arts, world language, health and fitness, and an emphasis on practical skills from technology to teamwork that are crucial to success in the workplace.
