The relentless drive toward raising achievement commences in the summer before the start of the school year with the arrival of the on-site dedicated support team and with intensive professional development for school leaders and teachers. Implementation continues during the school year with the introduction of the various achievement tools and systems.
ACHIEVEMENT SOLUTIONS
Edison brings to its Alliance partnerships a vast array of achievement tools that have been proven to raise student achievement in underperforming schools. These tools include Edison’s comprehensive school design, which fosters a professional work environment in each school and promotes student achievement, as well as instructional tools such as the Edison Teacher Companion Guides, which ensure that each school’s adopted reading and mathematics curriculum is aligned with state standards. Additionally, students at Alliance partnership schools take monthly, on-line assessments using Edison’s state-of-the-art Benchmark Assessment System.ACHIEVEMENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
Edison brings its Alliance partnerships a network of Achievement Management Systems that will track each partnership school’s progress in implementing its intervention plan and attaining its achievement goals. These Achievement Management Systems include monthly deliverables for partnership school principals, data analysis of Benchmark Assessments, monthly Achievement Review Calls, and bi-annual Intensive Review meetings with district and school administrators.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Edison provides and facilitates on-going professional development for teachers, principals, and administrators throughout the life of the Alliance partnership. This professional development is delivered by Edison experts, covers a wide range of subjects, and is integrated to the tools and systems that comprise the Alliance model. ONGOING SUPPORT
Teachers and administrators receive year-round support from a dedicated Edison Alliance team which generally includes an achievement specialist, a reading specialist, a math specialist, and a technology specialist for every cluster of six to eight schools.
