This past winter and spring, students in Edison schools across the country identified and researched 20th Century heroes from their communities or states, focusing on their families, mentors, school experiences, and other factors that led them to become great men and women. In May, each school held an election to choose one local hero—the person from their community or state who had the greatest impact on the 20th century—to be the school's submission to the Edison 20th Century Hall of Fame.
