Unix/Linux Administrator

Position Summary:
Edison Schools is looking for a qualified UNIX/LINUX Administrator to support a 24x7 Sun Solaris environment working from our NY Headquarters. Responsibilities will include: onsite and remote support, trouble-shooting hardware, software and network related problems; Candidate will be supporting the Netscape/iPlanet Messenger, Enterprise and Collabra products so relevant experience is necessary; Candidate must have experience in Solaris versions 2.52.8 on Sun E450, E5xxx platforms; Working experience with Veritas Volume Manager is also needed.



Special Skills/Experience Required:
Candidate must have solid knowledge of SMTP, POP, IMAP, LDAP and DNS; Strong knowledge of shell scripting is required; You must also possess strong documentation and communications skills, including the ability to manage a project solely and efficiently; Experience with Tivoli TSM and EMC SAN solutions a big plus; You must be a team player, enthusiastic, willing to learn and have 5+ years of Unix/Linux Administration; Salary commensurate with experience.
