Position Summary:

Duties and Responsibilities:The Reading Assessment Specialist is responsible for reading/language arts test development for customized benchmark assessment product administered monthly in schools nationwide. This includes conducting prior research and developing planning documents; writing multiple-choice assessment items according to state curriculum frameworks, high-stakes test blueprints, and Edison specifications; and revising items and reading passages in accordance with reliability/validity data.

Special Skills/Experience Required:
Applicants should have a master's degree in English/language arts/reading and one to three years of classroom teaching experience at the elementary or middle school levels. Curriculum expertise in reading, broad knowledge of state academic standards, and familiarity with K-8 reading standards and assessments also required. Prior item writing and/or educational publishing experience preferred. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
