Position Summary:
Primary Function:
Performs accounting work involving transaction processing, compilation, consolidation, and analysis of financial data. May include any or all of the following: updating cash book and general ledger, tracking inter-company financial activities, and preparation and processing of journal entries.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
· Perform daily cash accounting functions including updating the cashbook to record cash receipts, cash disbursements based on daily lockbox advises and statements from the bank.
· Transfer funds between bank accounts based on the needs to cover expenses.
· Record inter-company cash activities and ensure that they are in balance to reflect the accurate payable and or receivable position.
· Work with payroll, payable and receivable/grants accounting groups to follow up on proper accounting of cash disbursements and receipts.
· Work with the banks to ensure that checks are voided in a timely fashion and follow up on the related accounting.
· Perform bank reconciliations for all bank accounts excluding payroll bank accounts on a timely basis.
· Account for all the transactions necessary to be recorded based on bank reconciliations.
· Review daily cash position and report on daily cash position.
· Assist in monthly, quarterly and year-end close by processing (upload into Lawson) journal entries from various accounting organizations including various parts of the controllers and business finance organizations.
· Perform monthly analysis and reconciliation of all cash accounts in the general ledger.
· Work on special projects and other duties as assigned.



Special Skills/Experience Required:
Qualifications/ Selection Criteria:
· Bachelors Degree in Accounting and up to 4 years of experience in accounting in a medium to large business organization ($100MM and over).
· Some public accounting experience is preferred as is some work towards CPA certification.
· Familiar with generally accepted accounting concepts, practices and procedures as applicable to medium to large business organizations.
· Good skills in software tools including Excel, Word, Access, etc.
· Some familiarity with ERP system  Lawson preferred.
· Good analytical communication and presentation skills.
