Senior Perl Developer

Position Summary:
How would you like to be off for winter recess?
Edison Schools, the nations leading private manager of public schools, has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Perl Developer. This developer will be working on Edisons Achievement Management System, an educational tool that provides grade level benchmark testing in specific subject areas to over 450 schools throughout the US and the UK. This person will be coding new enhancements and subsystems as well as helping to maintain and support the existing software.
Special Skills/Experience Required:
- Perl (object oriented), 5+ years
- mod_perl
- SQL, 5+ years (preferably in a PostgreSQL or
Oracle environment)
- Advanced object oriented methodologies, 5+
Years
- Experience maintaining large systems
- Exposure to some sort of persistence or
abstraction layer
Preferred Skills / Experience:
- Mason (v1.0.6)
- Template::Toolkit
- XML
- PostgreSQL exposure
- Oracle exposure
- ETL work
- Some secondary language (C/C++, Java, Python,
Ruby, etc.)
- Experience with school operations, especially
in the areas of enrollment, scheduling and
attendance
Qualifications:
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent field
