About Newton Learning
Newton Learning is a division within Edison Schools responsible for providing high quality summer and after school programs across the nation. In 2003, the program served over 46,000 students in grades K-12.

About the Position
On January 8, 2002, President Bush signed the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB). The law allows students in low performing schools to access supplemental education services (e.g. after-school tutoring) from approved state providers. Newton is one such provider.

The Consultant Regional Advisor serves as the key initiator of the Newton Learning Program to key school and district officials and work with the District Title 1 offices.

MAJOR Responsibility:
· Set up and attend meetings with principals at eligible SES schools regarding the Newton Learning educational program

Other responsibilities may include:
· Determine Supplemental Education Services (SES) process at participating districts
· Determine sites which have students eligible for SES services
· Determine facility use policy for SES services
· Identify suitable and available facilities for off-site SES program (if needed)

Terms:
Varies by region. Average $300-$350/day plus potential bonus
One to five months, depending on duration of program

Special Skills/Experience Required:
Job Requirements:
Five years experience as principal, assistant principal, or senior level district administrator
Extensive an established network of educational contacts within a particular community
Strong interpersonal/presentation skills
