Position Summary:
Edison Schools Inc., founded in 1992 is the country's leading private manager of public schools and is currently interviewing for a Contract Administrator in our Site Services Department. Individual will be responsible for sourcing and procuring a wide variety of standard services related to K -12 school operations. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to preparing and issuing RFPs; receiving and evaluating proposals, negotiating competitive prices and services, developing and monitoring contractual terms and conditions, establishing and maintaining a contract related database, and issuing and administering contracts. Reports to Director, Site Services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Prepares and coordinates the RFP process and the administration of contract proposals.
2. Ensures compliance to all federal, state and local procurement regulations governing the procurement of service related contracts.
3. Assists various Edison staff in the negotiation, evaluation, approval, and implementation of vendor contracts
4. Serves as primary school site interface. Evaluates and monitors contract performance to determine necessity for amendments or extension of contracts, and compliance to contractual obligations. Negotiates contractual terms and conditions, pricing, and scope.
5. Assists in the development and management of a vendor performance matrix, acts as a facilitator, and makes recommendations related to the overall contract evaluation program. Seeks to mitigate risk for Edison Schools.
6. Prepares reports on vendor performance and analyzes new and existing contracts for agreement and consistency with proposals.
7. Assists in the creation and maintenance of a database for the Contract Administration department. Provide, maintain, and control contract documents.
8. Approves invoices related to and in accordance with contractual terms
9. Perform a variety of contract management tasks, special projects, and may direct the work of others.
10. Assists in the management of vendor relationships.



Special Skills/Experience Required:
· BS/BA degree
· 10 years experience in contract management or related business field

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
· Effective written and oral communication skills with computer literacy in MS Word and Excel.
· Must demonstrate proficiency in commercial and governmental procurement practices with strong organizational skills.
· Strong negotiation skills.
· Knowledge of financial and accounting principles and procedures as related to contract administration.
· Ability to analyze and solve problems or make recommendations to management.
· Strong interpersonal, communication, and multi-tasking skills and ability to establish effective business relationships required.
