Cognos Administrator

Position Summary:
Edison is looking for qualified Cognos Administrator/Developer to learn all aspects of the existing ERP systems and related applications.

Candidate will be responsible for financial/business reporting and data manipulation.
Must be proficient in Cognos (Impromptu, IWR, Powerplay and Cognos Administration). Expertise with each of these products is a must. Must be able to analyze complex specifications and apply knowledge of data structures, data conversion techniques and application capabilities to create user-friendly solutions. Candidate must be totally proficient in English in both listening/reading and speaking/writing with the ability to determine project requirements and generate a variety of written documentation to client's standards. Candidate must have the ability to work in both a collaborative (team) environment as well as perform independent work as required. Effective time-management skills are required.



Special Skills/Experience Required:
Knowledge of application development theory and principles, practices and methods of electronic data systems and relational databases required. Knowledge of Oracle (SQLplus, PLSQL), and System architecture is preferred. Must be proficient in SQL and have working knowledge of the other MS Office applications. Knowledge of Lawson Financials is a plus. Bachelor's degree and relevant experience required.
