Position Summary:
Edison Schools Inc., founded in 1992 is the country's leading private manager of public schools, is currently seeking a qualified Database Analyst to assist in the deployment and ongoing maintenance of more than 350 remotely-deployed Postgre SQL databases (running on RedHat Linux servers) coast-to-coast, plus several overseas. Key data from these remotely-deployed servers is loaded on a nightly basis to centralized Oracle warehouses.
Special Skills/Experience Required:
This position would report to the Chief Engineer on the project with additional supervision from the Senior DBA, but qualified candidates will need to demonstrate independent thinking and self-motivation to succeed. Proficient knowledge of SQL92, and 1-2 years experience with production level DBMS systems in a UNIX/Linux environment a must. Specific knowledge of PostgreSQL and Oracle 9i a plus. Must have excellent communication and customer service skills. Competitive compensation and the chance to work in a tight-knit team in an exciting hard-charging environment.
